  How I recently handled JWs at my door

  the jws stopped by my house a couple weeks ago on a saturday morning.

  i knew that with others most likely waiting for them out in the car they probably did not then have much time to engage in any serious conversation.

  so i let them talk while i feigned interest in what they had to say.

  the creator of the universe obviously isn't able to provide accurate information to humans in a fast and straightforward manner. otherwise there would be no religious debate.

  god-of-the-gaps. Should we or shouldn't we fiil in the gaps with God?

  science imo does not have all the answers.

  when i discover gaps in science, it's easy for me, as a temporary measure to fill in the gaps with god.

  i do this until i have learnt something new.. what about you?

  not believing in a god that hides in gaps isn't all that scary. if (s)he hides so well, maybe (s)he doesn't want to be believed in.

  the "new light" dogma aint that bad, several JWs compared this to science, things are changed when new evidence is found. the problem with "new light" is, that it can't be absolute truth at the same time. you either make progress and adapt to changes OR have the absolute - unchangeable - truth, can't have it both ways.

  400 = 20^2 is a perfect square.

  400 in roman numerals is CD! that's clearly christus dominus.

  in greek it's upsilon, Y stands for the decision of taking the right or wrong way! omfg, that guy is on to something!

  what i don't quite get as of now is how a ratio of exactly 400 proves that a single personal god of the christian flavor exists.
